The Chronological

About

The Chronological puts movie and TV franchises in the order their stories happen, so you can watch a saga the way it unfolds.

What’s here

Pixar, in Pixar Theory order, is next.

How it works

Every title sits where its story happens, not when it came out. Each list spells out its rules under “How this order works”. Every film and Marvel Studios series gets a credits call: stay, skip, or come back for it later.

Your progress

There are no accounts. Your checks and episodes are saved in this browser, and both lists share them. Safari can clear saved data after a while, so copy a backup code now and then, or add the site to your Home Screen.

Watching with others

Watch together shares one list: anyone’s check counts for everyone. Side by side lets everyone keep their own checks and see who’s ahead. Send the invite link and people join with a first name. If your browser forgets you, open the link again and pick your name.

Privacy

No sign-up, no ads and no tracking cookies. Visits are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and collects no personal information. Your own progress stays on your device unless you copy a backup code.

Groups are stored on Cloudflare’s servers: the group’s name, the first names people enter, and its checks and episodes. Each device keeps a private key instead of a password. Anyone with the invite link can join, or carry on as someone who isn’t online at the time, so share it only with people you want in. Leaving removes you, along with your checks in Side by side. A group is deleted when the last person leaves, or after a year with no activity.

If you turn on a nightly reminder, your browser’s push address, the time and your time zone are stored so the reminder can be sent. Your progress isn’t: the reminder’s words are written on your phone. Turn it off to delete them.

The suggestion box on the home page emails your message to our inbox, with your email address only if you add one, so we can reply. The site keeps no copy.
