What it’s about
In the retro-futuristic 1960s of an alternate Earth, Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm are celebrity heroes awaiting Reed and Sue’s first child when the Silver Surfer arrives to announce that the planet-devouring Galactus has marked their world for destruction.
Set on its own Earth, whose 1960s run alongside the main MCU’s 2020s. Marvel’s timeline files it after Thunderbolts*; by its own calendar it happens in 1964.
Where it fits
- Road to Doomsday: #5 of 103 · Essential. The Fantastic Four join Doomsday, and its mid-credits scene points straight at it.
